Full name: Adrenocorticotropic Hormone

A 39-amino-acid peptide hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland in response to CRH. Its primary role is to stimulate cortisol production by the adrenal cortex. Short ACTH fragments such as ACTH(4–10) are studied as neuropeptides influencing memory and attention.
