Reconstitution

The process of dissolving lyophilized peptide powder in a sterile diluent. Standard procedure involves injecting bacteriostatic water (or sterile water for single use) slowly along the side of the vial wall to avoid foaming, then gently swirling — never shaking — to ensure complete dissolution without denaturing the peptide. Reconstituted peptides should be stored at 4°C (refrigerated) and protected from light.
