P
Peptide Stability
The degree to which a peptide maintains its chemical integrity and biological activity under specified storage conditions. Lyophilized peptides at –20°C: stable 2–5 years. Reconstituted peptides at 4°C with bacteriostatic water: typically stable 30 days. Stability is reduced by elevated temperature, light (UV exposure), repeated freeze-thaw cycles, extreme pH, and the presence of oxidation-prone residues (methionine, cysteine, tryptophan). Some peptides such as BPC-157 have a relatively stable arginine salt form with improved aqueous stability.
