Receptor Agonist
A compound that binds to a specific receptor and activates it, mimicking or exceeding the effect of the endogenous ligand. Most research peptides function as receptor agonists — for example, Ipamorelin is a GHS-R1a agonist mimicking ghrelin, and CJC-1295 is a GHRH receptor agonist. Agonists can be full agonists (maximal response) or partial agonists (submaximal response).
