B

Bioavailability

The fraction of an administered dose that reaches systemic circulation in an active form. Most peptides have near-zero oral bioavailability due to degradation by gastric proteases. Subcutaneous (SC) and intramuscular (IM) injection typically achieve 60–100% bioavailability. Intranasal delivery achieves partial bioavailability with some CNS-targeted peptides.
