H

Half-Life

Full name: t½

The time required for a compound's concentration in the body to decrease by 50%. A fundamental pharmacokinetic parameter that determines dosing frequency. Most unmodified peptides have very short half-lives (minutes to hours) due to rapid enzymatic degradation. Modifications like DAC technology (CJC-1295 DAC), PEGylation, and albumin binding are used to extend peptide half-lives.
