Mounjaro

The brand name for tirzepatide (5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg weekly injection) approved by the FDA in May 2022 for type 2 diabetes management. Manufactured by Eli Lilly. The name derives from "mountain" imagery. SURPASS clinical trials demonstrated average HbA1c reductions of 1.87–2.07% and weight loss of 7–11 kg — outperforming semaglutide 1 mg in the head-to-head SURPASS-2 trial. The same compound is marketed as Zepbound for obesity indication.
